Ever since I started wearing polo shirts I have always felt the need to button all the buttons. Having one or two buttons loose just felt too unkempt for me. When I started working in a corporate setting, during casual Fridays I would wear my polo with all the buttons buttoned and it would always lead to a coworker asking why? It just felt right to me, I wouldn't have it any other way, I would reply. However, I have found over the years that I am some what in the minority. Most people usually have one or two buttons loose and it usually looks fine but every time I try it just looks ridiculous. What's your preference?
