83 Years and Nothing has Changed

René Lacoste, the French 7-time Grand Slam tennis champion, decided that the stiff tennis attire was a problem and sought to come up with a solution. He designed a white, short-sleeved, loosely knitpiqué cotton (he called the cotton weave jersey petit piqué) shirt with an un-starched, flat protruding collar, a buttoned placket, and a longer shirt-tail in back than in front, which he first wore at the 1926 U.S. Open championship. Beginning in 1927, Lacoste placed a crocodile emblem on the left breast of his shirts, and in 2009 the iconic crocodile and polo style remains unchanged.

As the saying goes, "don't fixed it if it's not broke."

To some extent I agree, I am a big fan of the polo shirt. For the past 5 years I have pretty much stopped acquiring regular t-shirts and have exclusively wore polos. There is something about wearing a polo that just feels RIGHT.

But you have to ask yourself isn't it time for change?
